What's a book you've held off on reading because of the hype but ended up loving? ✨

Y'ALL. THIS BOOK MY GOD. The fact that I didn't read this sooner despite doing classics all through high school is astounding 🤯 I had heard so many wonderful things about this book but never really delved into thinking about whether I would like it.

The Song of Achilles is told from the perspective of Patroclus, Achilles's famed friend from the Trojan War. But the book begins when they are only boys and tells the story of their love over decades. I never knew this book was told from Patroclus's POV before picking it up, and despite knowing full well how his mythology ends I found myself so overwhelmed with emotion by the end of this book and so in love with how Patroclus loved Achilles.

An absolute masterpiece of a book for anyone who loves long sagas, Greek mythology/epics, and love that stands the test of time.

Full reading vlog for this is up now so go check it out for some flailing and crying lol 😂

And high key thanks to booktok for making me finally pick this up lol
