my favourite book of all-time is out TODAY!! say hello to KAIKEYI, and get ready to never forget her story 💛❤️💛

"Before this story was Rama's, it was mine."

it's been a few months now since I read an advance review copy of Kaikeyi by @vaishnawrites and I have not been able to stop thinking about it.

this book is for you if you want:
✨ a feminist retelling
✨ a complex retelling of the Ramayana and a new look at traditionally "good" and "evil" characters
✨ a story of women looking out for other women
✨ an asexual/aromantic protagonist
✨ a fascinating look at motherhood & the challenges and expectations that come with it
✨ an unflinching look at the dangers of unchecked patriarchy and misogyny
✨ female friendships that are to DIE for 😤
✨ a complex protagonist with infinite depth and compassion who you cannot help but root for

KAIKEYI has my whole heart and I hope you'll pick it up soon and fall in love like I did ❤️
